This Tiny Hokkaido roller 'Dots' and a visible mold line.
These 'dots' appear to be vent holes in the molds used to create rollers. Typically, the glassblower would twist the newly formed roller as the last step before removing it from the mold. For whatever reason, that step wasn't done on this particular float. Seven mold 'Dots' are clearly visible on this roller. There's a smudge of glass that may have obscured a would-be eighth dot.
It measures 5 1/4 inches in length.
Purchased in Japan in July 2023.
