This unusual float appears to be some kind of blown out roller. I've heard collectors refer to this type of float as a "Roly Poly" roller.
It has a pinched end in lieu of a seal on the end.
It measures about 5 3/8 inches in length.
This old clear 5 inch float has a lot of character.
It's quite heavy for its size.
Shows lots of signs of use.
WP #361 is a rare mark. The mark is comprised of the two symbols Ka か and Tsu つ. Katsu かつ means win or victorious.
According to Walt Pich's 'Marks' book, there are only two known examples of this mark. This float is the third float known example to exist in collections.
The other two are 10 inch floats. One of these 10 inch floats has a blue seal button making it the only large blue dot with a maker's mark. A true collector's prize.
This float is 12 inches in diameter making it the only known 12 inch float with mark WP #361.
This float has excellent provenance having been found in Japan by Kala & Aragon Ellwanger in 2020.
This undocumented tri-mold float has a single hash line that barely touches the seal. There's also another small hash line on the opposite side of the float that's just above the equatorial mold line.
It's a standard size tri-mold measuring about 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
This 'LT' float is nicely sun-turned.
LT is mark OR #192. It's embossed of the side of the float.
The float has a bimold construction.
It has remnants of shell life on the seal and on a couple of other places on the float.
This float is 5 inches in diameter.
Extremely rare spindle in a 12 inch float.
This free standing spindle spans across the inside from the seal to the base of the float. It's one of the best spindles I've ever seen.
There are also some fine amber swirls in the float.
WP #145 has the symbol Iyo 友 stamped in the middle of the seal button.
The seal button actually consists of two seals. The first seal has the stamp with 友. The second seal is larger and is applied over the top of the first seal. This is why you can't feel any raised lettering on the seal.
The seal also has radial lines around the edges giving it the classic pie seal look. Pie seals are typical on many of the floats produced in Taiwan.
This float is a beautiful yellow green color.
It measures 12 inches in diameter.
Nice Double Ball float with an inner ball that's about 1 1/4 inches wide.
This float measures about 4 1/4 inches in diameter.
Blue Dot float that has blue swirls and amber swirls in the seal.
This float measures 5 inches in diameter.
Chinese bi-mold float with a free standing Spindle that extends from the seal to the base of the float.
These bi-mold floats are currently used in China in the seaweed growing industry.
This float measeures 9 1/2 inches in diameter.
Here's a black float. It's actually a very dark brown color when held up to the sun.
The surface of the glass appears to be sandblasted but there are no net patterns. I'm not sure if these are signs of use or something else.
This float measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
