This 7 inch float is stamped with WP #138 'DG in a Box'.
It's pretty hard to find this maker's mark on a 7 inch float.
Spindle float with WP #29 'Made In Japan'.
This 'Made In Japan' stamp is perfect. It shows all points.
It also has a deep rich blue/green color.
Found on Hokkaido Island, Japan.
Partial frosted spindle float with net patterns.
It has a stamp of WP #97 in the middle of the seal button. Ichi 一 is a single hash mark with little flares at each end.
This float measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter.
Marked 18 inch float that measures a full 56 inches in circumference. This float is in perfect condition - no chips, not even a flea bite.
There's a clear and complete stamp of WP #6 'Maru Sen' 仙 commonly known as 'TY' on the ID seal.
There's also a second patch. This is not marked like an ID seal, so that leads me to believe it could some kind of repair patch (especially considering the location right next to the seal button).
Here's kind of a generic 14 inch float. Everything is common about it.
Except ... the story of where I got it.
A picker found this float in a barn in Puyallup, Washington. He told me that it had purportedly been in that barn for decades.
The float itself was really dirty and covered with the thickest, heaviest netting I had ever seen. You could NOT see any glass whatsoever.
So, I took a chance ... I was hoping it might be something incredible ... a spindle, a blue swirl, or an exotic color.
Instead, it was a generic unmarked 14 inch in standard blue/green color. But it looked brand new. It was in near perfect condition ... no chips or scuffs.
Thankfully, this experience didn't dampen my risk taking nature. Three year later, I took a similar risk on an 18 inch float that had some really bad pictures. When I got the float and took the netting off it had a fantastic blue swirl!
This 14 inch float has an unusual color. I think it's somewhere between the common Blue/Green/Aqua color. I'm calling it Turquoise for lack of a better description.
This is definitely a great display float.
This 14 inch float has a lot of great features.
First, it has a superb two layer Pie Crust Seal indicative of a float made in Taiwan. This pie seal is one of the nicest I've ever seen and is in fantastic condition.
In between the two layers of the seal there is an Undocumented maker's mark that's similar to WP #144. The mark is comprised of three parts. On top, there's a small box. In the middle, there's a larger box. Inside this box there are two hash marks that extend from the left edge of the border to the center on the box. Below the middle box, there are two 'Ho' marks WP #35 standing side-by-side. All three parts of the mark are center aligned.
This float has a nice green color.
There's also an amber brown swirl.
This is a beautiful float!
This 14 float has a great stamp of WP #8 'Akita'.
There's a fine amber brown swirl around the seal button. I think the almost clear color really helps this swirl stand out.
A few barnacle remnants add character, too.
Found in Hawaii.
This 14 inch float has an unusual color. I called it Amber Green or Dark Olive but there seems to be a brownish yellow tint to the color. I think this is a great example of how a pile of recycled glass can turn into something beautiful.
There's also a bold clear stamp of WP#3 'Kita' 北 or FF on the ID button.
Heavily used 14 inch float with maker's mark WP #3 'Kita' 北 or FF. The mark on the ID patch is quite faint but still visible upon closer inspection.
I think this is a classic example of a coke bottle colored 14 inch float.
There is also some nice swirling in the glass from spinning in the mold.
On a personal note, this float was the first one I purchased on eBay.
Nice 4 1/4 inch marked spindle float.
The spindle is free standing from the seal button to the base of the float.
This float has a perfect stamp of WP #170 旭 x 3. There are three Asahi 旭 marks in the classic 'Y' or triangular configuration.
Found on Hokkaido Island, Japan.
